COVID-19 Safety Protocols

At TheatreOne, we are committed to providing a safe experience for all staff, volunteers, and patrons. The following COVID-19 protocols are based on BC Health guidelines and implemented by TheatreOne and its Venue Partners to ensure safety for all:

PURCHASING TICKETS

Our online ticketing system and venue seating plans will provide patrons with the ability to secure seating according to venue protocols, limited space, and the number of people in their bubble.

Seating capacity is determined by each venue and are often less than the government’s
maximum 50 seating capacity.

Purchasing tickets early is the best approach to take if your bubble is greater than two people.

Purchasing for a group (bubble), please provide this information at the purchase point to ensure your bubble is seated together.

Tickets must be purchased at least one hour before the performance and will be issued
electronically.

Tickets must be printed at home or scanned on your mobile device.

Tickets will NOT be available for purchase in person or at the time of the performance.

PLAYBILLS/PROGRAMS

TheatreOne will NOT distribute paper programs at venues. Playbills will be available for
download at www.theatreone.org in the New Year.

HEALTH ASSESSMENT & CONTACT TRACING

All Patrons are asked to complete a self-screening questionnaire
https://bc.thrive.health/covid19/en before attending a TheatreOne event.

If you feel unwell, if you have traveled in the past 14 days, or if you knowingly have been exposed to COVID-19, please do not attend. Instead, we ask that you email admin@theatreone.org with a refund request.

Please read Port Theatre’s and Landmark Cinemas’ venue protocols outlining venue requirements for social distancing, use of hand sanitizer and masks.

ENTERING A VENUE

Main doors to venues open ½ hour before the performance.

A public notice will be posted at each venue asking patrons not to enter if symptomatic, if they have travelled outside of the country within the past 14 days or if they have travelled to a high endemic area.

When entering the venue lobby, patrons will be asked to provide their names and phone numbers. We are creating a record of all who are in attendance, solely for contract tracing.

Patrons will be required to line up and will be admitted slowly to maintain physical distance.

EXITING A VENUE

When the performance is completed, all patrons in the back rows will be asked to leave first to avoid close physical contact. Please maintain appropriate physical distance at all times.

SAFETY PROTOCOLS

All common area surfaces are to be cleaned and disinfected before and following each performance.

Staff and volunteers will wear masks or face shields at all times and regularly wash hands or use hand sanitizer.

Physical distancing will be encouraged at all times.

All seats will be cleaned with a disinfectant before and after each performance.

There will be assigned seating for patrons with a 2m (6’) distance between patrons/groups.

Patrons will be seated at a safe distance from the stage.

Masks must be worn at all times, except when seated.

Hand sanitizer will be available for use when entering the venue.

Staff and volunteers will guide patrons to exit the venue auditorium, starting with people in the back row leaving first, always maintaining a 2 metre distance from other individuals.

If a patron displays COVID symptoms, the individual and/or group will be advised to go home immediately and consult BC Health for isolation requirements.
