A Word from our Artistic and Managing Director

I am thrilled that the TheatreOne Board of Directors asked me to take on the new combined role of Artistic and Managing Director. Over my 35+ years working in professional theatre I have had the pleasure of helping to bring almost 700 shows to the stage, several of which went on to have Broadway and Off-Broadway runs.

TheatreOne brought our very first show, Romeo and Juliet, to Nanaimo audiences in 1984; forty years later we are still bringing high-quality professional theatre to our community.  We are extremely proud of the 290 shows we have brought to Nanaimo.  Although the last few years have been difficult for all of the performing arts, we are starting to see post-COVID audiences returning to the theatre and are excited about what the future holds for us.

Our 2024/25 season includes two musicals, a long running Broadway farce, new works, and fingers crossed, our first mounted show since the pandemic.

I hope you will join us for this amazing season!
